Dog Obedience Classes will start this Wednesday at Tractor Supply. Classes start at 6 p.m. Cost of classes is $60 for 7 classes. All proceeds from this program will be used to help with spaying and neutering cats in need. For more information, please contact Bev at (608) 326-2914.

Donation jars to benefit Rivers & Bluffs will be in place this week. Joan has already placed them at SW Vet and Ma’s Bakery in Bloomington.

Wake Up Santa will be held on Saturday, December 2nd in the Community Room of City Hall. We will decorate on Thursday night starting at 4:30. A light supper will be provided for those helping to decorate. We need volunteers for both decorating and the event itself. Remember, many hands make light work. We wake Santa up promptly at 8:30 followed by breakfast and a number of activities for the kids including Tristan the Magician. The doors will open to the public at 8 a.m. so volunteers should be there about 7:30 a.m. If you can help decorate the Community Room and/or help with Wake Up Santa, please let me know by calling me at 326-2914 or replying to this email. We are also in need of about 5 boxes of pancake mix (add water only), a can of Pam, a small can of coffee, a few gallons of chocolate and white milk as well as apple and orange juice. If you would like to donate any of these supplies, please let Bev or Donna know. These can be dropped off on Thursday at the Community Room of City Hall or if you contact Bev or Donna, we can make arrangements to pick them up if you live in town. They can also be dropped off at the animal shelter if you contact Staci prior to arrival to make sure she will be there. Please let Donna or Bev know by Monday, December 27th, if you plan to purchase any of the above items. As always, thank you for your help.

Tractor Supply Holiday Bake Sale will be held on Saturday and Sunday, December 16th & 17th. We will need a large assortment of baked goods as we usually sell out easily at this event. If you can bake for this bake sale, please reply to this email or call Bev at 326-2914.

Yes, RABAS, we have a Santa for Wake Up Santa. As you may know, Randy Paske who has played Santa for many years for our annual Wake Up Santa and his wife Kathy (aka Mrs. Claus) have decided it is time to hang up their Santa & Mrs. Claus attire. Dennis Leeser from Woodstock, Illinois, has volunteered to fill the boots left by Randy. His wife, Debbie, will take over for Kathy as Mrs. Claus. Dennis has experience being Santa for the local nursing home in Woodstock, Illinois as well as for “The Polar Express” that Woodstock did for a number of years. He has his own Santa suit. They will come to PdC on Friday, Dec. 1st. I would like to thank Randy & Kathy for their many years of bringing a realistic and believable Santa and Mrs. Claus to the area children.

Thanks also to Dennis and Debbie for volunteering to keep the long-going tradition of Wake Up Santa alive. Wake Up Santa is scheduled for Saturday, December 2nd in the Community Room at City Hall. If you would like to help, please contact Bev or Donna.
