Help prevent homeless pets! Every year, unplanned and unwanted litters create millions of homeless pets.
Spaying and neutering gets to the root of overpopulation of homeless pets as it prevents the birth of so many unwanted animals. Every year, each adult unspayed female CAT can have up to three litters with an average of 4 kittens. Every year, each adult unspayed female DOG can have up to two litters with an average of 4 puppies. 35% of dogs and cats in U.S. households are not spayed or neutered which means there are 60 million pets that can still breed.
Some areas provide low cost spay/neuter clinics which is a helpful alternative for those who cannot afford full priced surgeries. All animals adopted from Rivers and Bluffs Animal Shelter will be spayed or neutered before going to their new homes.
